    DRIVER'S EDUCATION CLASS

    SPRING 2026

    There is a new fee. GHE apologizes for the confusion regarding this fee.

    All participants (GHE & non-GHE) will also be charged a $65 fee that will be collected by the Driving Instructor. This fee does not get collected by GHE, but by the Driving Instructor.

    ****Driving Instructor will collect $65 at the time of the class. 



    When: April  13- 17, 2026 [Monday - Friday]

    Time: 8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

    Where: Lawndale Baptist Church - House C   

    Ages: Must be 14.5 to take the class

    Cost: To take the class with GHE, there is a $15 fee for non-GHE members.

    When: May  4 - 8, 2026 [Monday - Friday]
    Time: 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    Students must attend the entire session every day. When you sign up you are committing to all 5 days. Please don't email asking for exceptions.

    Where: Shannon Hills Bible Chapel
    900 W Vandalia Rd, Greensboro, NC 27406

    Park in the upper parking lot and take the walk up to the Activities Building (Gym). The classroom is in the front room of that building.

    It's that time again!  Time to sign up for GHE's annual group testing.  This year we will be using the IOWA (ITBS - Iowa Test of Basic Skills for grades K-8; ITED - Iowa Test of Educational Development for grades 9-12).  


    GHE group testing

    When:  Monday, May 11 through Tuesday, May 12, 2026

    Time: 9am - 1pm 

    Location:  Lawndale Baptist Church 

    3505 Lawndale Dr, Greensboro, NC 27408 

    Cost: $42.00/test  for grades K-12; 

    Registration deadline:  Sunday, April 12, 2026 (PAYMENT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THIS DATE)


    If you choose not to *pay* online (you MUST register online no matter what!): Payment can be mailed to (must be received by April 13): GHE, 2703 Fairway Drive, Greensboro, NC 27408
       

        


    Registration assumes that each family will have one adult serve as a volunteer during testing.  Failure to do so will result in children not being tested or having their tests scored.  No refunds of testing fees will be made except in emergency circumstances as determined by the GHE board. 

    If you are registering more than one child - please pick the same volunteer options as on the first child's registration. 

    You will be prompted to fill out a new form for each registration (each student testing)

    **Depending on the needs each year, some jobs may not be filled and you may not get your first choice.  We will make every effort to accommodate someone who can not be physically present during, but demand may make it impossible to fill such requests.  If you absolutely can not work during the three testing days from 9am until 1pm PLEASE note that on the registration form in the blank space allowed.  If we are unable to accommodate you, we can refund your test registration fee if we are aware of this PRIOR to the tests being ordered.

    You may also have some other adult substitute for you during testing, but you will need to receive permission for this from the Volunteer Coordinator.  Please indicate this on this application.  If we are unable to accommodate you, and you can not serve, we can refund your test registration fee if we are aware of this PRIOR to the tests being ordered.

    DESCRIPTION OF JOBS:

    Snack Coordinator:  Buy snacks and water for the group in advance of testing and have at site on day one. 
    Test Packet Coordinator:  Receive the tests on the Wednesday or Thursday before testing and organize them so they are ready for proctors.  Easy access to a copier and printer with your computer is a benefit to this job but not necessary.  Must be completed by Sunday afternoon before first testing date.

    Test Return Organizer:  Receive the tests on the last day of testing and return them to the test provider, following their return directions explicitly. Must be completed by the Friday of testing week.

    Following job are done on site during testing:

    Proctors - oversee students' testing
    Proctor Assistant - oversee students' testing 

    Nursery Workers:  work in the nursery, if needed 

    ALL onsite jobs require your presence from 8:45AM until 1pm on the testing days.
