Meet Your 2024-2025 GHE Volunteer Board:

Patrice Bryant serves as President. She and her husband Kelvin are entering their 25th year of homeschooling. Patrice and Kelvin have been married 37 years and have three sons ages 27, 28, and 29 and one almost 17 year old daughter (aka "The Princess"). The Bryants are members of Elim Christian Fellowship. These days, you will find Kelvin and Patrice bowling somewhere in Greensboro or traveling with Helen to bowling tournaments all over the southeast and beyond!

Amanda Wares serves as Vice-President. She is married to Michael, and has 4 children: Susannah, Killian, Katrielle, and Deacon. This is their 19th year homeschooling, and her 17th year on the GHE board. The Wares family is involved in an organic fellowship (house church) called Grace Family Church. In addition to her roles as wife and stay-at-home mom/teacher, Amanda also serves on the NCHE board as Homeschool Helps Director. In all her spare time, she loves to read, write, plan field trips, and encourage new homeschoolers!

Alev Nobles serves as the Board Secretary. Alev and her husband Zack have been married for over 25 years and have lived in Greensboro since 2004. This year marks their 13th year homeschooling their two sons. The Nobles family attends Westover Church, where Zack and Alev volunteer in children’s ministry. Alev enjoys spending time outside, traveling, and buying too many books.

Rebekah Johnson is one of the Activities Coordinators. Rebekah and her husband have two boys and are beginning their 12th year of homeschooling.  The Johnson family is active in their local church in a variety of ministries.  Rebekah is head coach of the Greensboro Gladiators Middle & High School Cross Country Team and Track & Field Team. She enjoys fitness, being outdoors, and coffee....lots and lots of coffee!

Katie Crawford is also an Activities Coordinator. Katie and her husband have three children: Abby, Josh, and Eli. This is their 5th year homeschooling. They are very active in their church, and she teaches in the 3 year old Sunday school class. They have a small growing farm with goats, pigs, and chickens. It's always a daily adventure with the animals. Katie enjoys planning events and spending time with her family.

Lauri Westmoreland is our Treasurer. Lauri Anne and her husband Jamey have two children: Chase and Ruby Raye. This is their 5th year homeschooling . They have recently moved to the area to start a homestead with chickens, ducks, guinea, peacocks, goats, and a cow. Lauri enjoys teaching at local co-ops on how to live more naturally, cut toxic products from your household, and balance your hormones.
